The event seeks to build local network of volunteers who can track food produce from the farmers to the stores, markets, and silos. This enable track excess of food and avoid waste. It will also help save some food for the needy.
The fifth International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste (IDAFLW) will be observed on the 29th of September 2024, with the theme ‘Climate Finance for Food Loss and Waste Reduction’. IDAFLW calls on public and private entities across the food system, as well as consumers, to unite in reducing food loss and waste.
